The Aare is the beating heart of the Berner Oberland. Glacier-cold, crystal clear, and one of the most beautiful swimming rivers in Switzerland — but it requires local knowledge. Konrad knows every safe entry point, every current shift between Thun and Bern, and every quiet stretch where you can float for 30 minutes without seeing another soul.

He brings everything you need for a proper river day: wetsuits for colder stretches, a dry bag for your valuables, a picnic with local produce, and cold drinks. The session is as relaxed or as active as you want — full-length float, or anchor at one beautiful spot and stay.

The Aare — entry points

Thun Lachen

The classic entry below the old town. Clear water, gentle current, sandy bottom. Changing rooms, restaurant, sunbathing lawns.

Uttigen Bend

A remote bend 8 km below Thun — wide, warm (for the Aare), and almost always empty. Konrad's favourite for smaller groups.

Schwäbis, Münsingen

Gravel banks and a long straight with forest on both sides. Good for children who want to float in shallow sections.

Marzili, Bern

The iconic city swimming spot below the Bundeshaus. Combine the float with a city afternoon in Bern.
